Lately, I’ve been loving cinematic sessions, and I absolutely fell in love with these engagement photos with Alex and Brandon at Fiddlers Elbow Country Club. The scenery was stunning and provided the perfect setting to capture their love. Keep reading to see more from their beautiful day!
Sunset Engagement Session at Upscale Country Club
When couples are deciding where to capture their special moments, the location they choose is almost always meaningful to them, which makes the session that much more special. Alex and Brandon chose to have their engagement photos at the same venue as their wedding – Fiddlers Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, NJ. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. It feels like you’ve been transported to Europe with the stone buildings and well-kept shrubbery. The entire aesthetic felt very old money, timeless, and elevated.
We began the shoot a little before sunset. The lighting greatly contributes to the overall feel of the session, and I wanted them to look golden. The sun is a great accent and so fun to play with when it comes to angles, but it’s also a huge help in highlighting them as subjects. We used it to our advantage in so many ways – literally for certain poses where she blocked the sun with her hands, to having beams of light peek through the trees. When it came to their inspiration, they actually sent me my own work! They loved many of my past sessions and wanted to incorporate certain aspects into their own shoot. There were so many cute places to visit – benches, bridges, and colorful flowers lining the property. I even had them lay in the grass together, which is an example of one of the poses they loved from previous shoots. They picked flowers and incorporated them in. It was so sweet!
Their dynamic throughout the entire session was so wholesome! It’s not every day you get professional photos taken, so Alex was helping guide Brandon through the poses. They fed off each other’s energy, and that’s what truly makes a session uniquely theirs.
