New Jersey based documentary style intimate wedding, Elopement & maternity photographer

Me staring at you with no direction, waiting for you to do something.

A lack of prompting or even editorial posing. with the right direction - and with couples who can’t get enough of each other - these, too will have tons of real, genuine emotion and interaction.

Plain photos that don’t feel like you, don’t tell your story, and don’t evoke precious memories of fleeting moments.

What it's not:

If you’ve been searching for that one photographer for you, you’ve probably stumbled across the phrase ‘documentary wedding photographer”, so here’s what this means to me, for you.

Documentary style is, at its core, the difference between taking photos -of- you and taking photos -with- you. It upholds a level of creativity that is based in your authenticity, then taking that to intentionally turn your raw, intimate love into art. It is honest storytelling, sharing your experience back to you through your own eyes and heart.

In other words, it’s taking who you are as a couple, or as parents, and capturing it in a way that you can display in your home forever. Because when you look at them you aren’t going to see just a moment in time, you are going to see a moment in time with feeling and nostalgia and a timeless love that remains forever encapsulated in these intimate portraits.

It’s about the details of you. I’m paying attention and noticing your little interactions that happen between prompts, the nuances that make your love unique. Because the truth of your story is in the moments in between.

Documentary style is finding perfection in the imperfections. It’s full of movement and touching and admiration. Stealing touch of a hand and subtle facial expressions and big smiles. Kisses and cuddles, comfort and enjoyment.

It is an experience that incorporates the depth, the root, of who you both are.

Film is a perfect way to add something deeply personal to your photos. Digital is the new norm it is so fast-paced and can capture 20+ frames per second and can turn any movement into a crisp, clear image. But film… does something completely different. Transformative. When we take the time to incorporate film into your photos, what we are really doing is taking a moment to slow down and really soak in these special moments with your love. To celebrate and freeze one single fleeting moment unlike any other. The nostalgia and intentionality behind film brings a sense of nostalgia and intentionality that you just can’t get with digital. Spend a little extra time gazing into your love’s eyes, a few extra seconds holding each other, and then when the shutter clicks, you have that feeling forever. It’s perfectly imperfect - authenticity at its core. Raw, unfiltered moments that are truly one of a kind, just like you.

I may use your photos for business purposes, including but not limited to social media, marketing materials and publications, website, etc. If you for any reason prefer not to have your photos shared, please notify me. I will be more than happy to respect your privacy.

Will my photos be posted publicly on your site or social media?

This is completely understandable. My packages are based built on most common requests, however, if you would like to alter your options (ex: replace Welcome Dinner with a Bridal Shoot), let’s discuss and I will put together a custom proposal for you.

What if I want to alter my package details?

I am happy to walk you through the packages to determine the package that best suits your needs. If you are planning on having a first look, I would recommend starting with 8-10 hours. If you plan to have a more intimate wedding, an hourly package might be best for you. No matter what your wedding day entails, we can customize a package to make it truly unique to you.

How do I know which package is right for me?

At this time, I am primarily taking weddings with an anticipated final guest count of 65 guests or less. I maintain this standard, especially for weddings where I will be the sole photographer, in order to ensure a truly personal experience. Any wedding with an anticipated guest count of over 65 guests will be considered and receive a customized proposal

Will you take on a wedding with over 65 guests?

Absolutely. I adore travel and would love to be there for you, wherever your big day is!

Will you travel for my wedding?

I will send you a customized proposal following our introductory call with your personal package details. Once that is approved, I will send over your contract, booking & invoice. A deposit & signed contract is required in order finalize your booking.

How do we reserve our wedding date?

While this is certainly not required, I do highly recommend ordering your prints and album professionally. Part of my process once your images are complete is to have a photo viewing together where we can select photos for your album so that I may professionally curate your album for you. I absolutely love this part of the process so we can relive the most special moments of your day!

Do I have to order my prints & album through you?

While I do not offer planning services at this time, I am happy to make these recommendations based on my personal experiences of them and knowledge of their work. I will also be reviewing your wedding details and building a timeline with you, especially in the last month or so leading up to it.

Please allow 2-3 weeks for your full retouched gallery to be delivered. I will send you a link to your password protected gallery, from which you will download your high resolution images for sharing & printing. We can also review options for printing and other art upon completion.

How long will it take to receive my photos?

I am happy to travel for you! I typically stay within New Jersey, New York or Pennsylvania for an individual session. Travel expenses are typically a flat rate of $50 within 25 miles from my base - for locations over 25 miles from my home a travel expense of $0.65/mile outside of NJ and any required lodging will be added to your total investment.

Will you travel for a session?

I find that the simpler the outfits, the more sophisticated and timeless the photos, so I recommend neutral tones such as black, white, cream, and taupe. Keep in mind "Neutral is Nice!"  You will also be provided with my style guide upon booking, and have access to my complimentary Client Closet for suggestions and additional options to wear! I love to help style you, so I am always happy to review your desired selections with you leading up to your session.

What should I wear for my session?

Personal, intentional and intimate. My main focus is making sure that you are comfortable and fully yourself, so that you can have photos that reflect the feeling you have during the most important times of your life. I will talk you through candid & prompted movement to get those flowy, happy images, as well as still & intentionally posed for the emotional, intimate pictures.

What will my experience be like?

Please inquire at this time. My private in-home intimate portrait studio is set to open in the fall. I am booking in advance and am anticipating a wait list. I will be having a call with every woman who books with me. Our initial call will be a sort of self-exploration to go over what your goals are and what you hope to get out of this session. I will prepare a customized package for each person until my formal standard packages are available. Once you have your session, we will share a review of your photos during a gallery reveal where you will select your photos. Final album delivery will be approximately six weeks from your session date.

What is this process like? How can I book a session?

My boudoir photography will be entirely centered around each woman as a personal inward journey of self-expression. My goal is to empower women to rediscover their confidence and strength. I will involve you every step of the way to ensure you feel comfortable and safe. This experience is all about you, where together we discover new ways for you to find love in yourself. Traditional boudoir has a heavy focus on overt sexuality, and while your sexuality will be a part of this process, the focus is much greater, expressed through intimate portraiture in an artful, classy yet powerful way.

What makes your boudoir photography different from traditional boudoir?

Boudoir faq's

Wedding faq's

Boudoir and intimate portraiture is intricately intertwined with motherhood. Think about all that a woman’s body does during pregnancy. It is a wonder that should be celebrated always, and that extends to the bond between mother and child. Intimate motherhood sessions are intended to truly dive into and capture the love that mother and child have between each other. This may include a session that is restful, playful or both. It may involve breastfeeding, bathing, and any loving touch that involves the incredibly important skin-to-skin connection that is unique to mother and child.

How does this tie into intimate motherhood sessions?

With a heavy emphasis on self-expression and true, raw, authentic reflection, I strongly suggest taking the time to think about and discuss with me what you want to take away from this session. I will walk you through all of the ways to reflect about your body. I will help you choose clothing items that feel flattering to you and we will work in-session to find ways to express the best parts of yourself. Editing is a long process and ensures that I am bringing out the best in you. While I do ensure that you receive the highest quality photos, I encourage you to consider that I will not provide *heavy* body modifications. We can discuss further what this means to you on a personal level all throughout your process.

What about my body? How do I choose what to wear and what gets photographed? What about the Editing process?
