Baillie and Tyler had the most elegant summer estate wedding back in September, and I am still gushing over their gallery. These two were so lovable and easy-going, and it was truly refreshing to watch their energy flow so effortlessly between one another. An Elegant Outdoor Estate Wedding in New Jersey
Getting Ready + Editorial Bridal Portraits
The two got ready separately, with Tyler spending the morning with his groomsmen and Baillie getting ready at the estate with her bridesmaids. The morning was calm and full of love. I’ve only photographed a handful of estate weddings, but the atmosphere always feels a little different. When couples choose to get married at home, in a place filled with sentimental value and memories, there’s an extra sense of ease that naturally sets in.
Your wedding day can be stressful—in the best way, of course—but when the venue is somewhere familiar, where you can relax, keep your routine, and truly be your authentic self, everything feels more laid back. It allows everyone to focus on one another and on creating new memories together. This kind of environment leaves space to capture the little things—getting makeup done, taking a quiet moment to yourself, laughing with your closest friends, and slipping into the dress of your dreams.
And speaking of dresses, Baillie was such a gorgeous bride, and I was absolutely obsessed with her dress. We captured some portraits of her fully ready by one of the windows, and the light was shining through just right.
Bride and Groom First Look
They saw each other for the first time among the trees on the estate. I loved the field and all of the greenery—the sun was peeking through the trees, creating the most perfect lighting for their first look. They were both so smiley, and the entire moment felt incredibly sweet and natural.
We also took some time to capture their bridals here, and these two absolutely killed it. We were going for more editorial-style portraits, and I think they turned out even better than expected. I especially love the photos where Baillie is sitting in the grass.
She also shared a first look with her father and brother, which was so sweet. She had tears, I had tears, and honestly, we all had tears.
Golden Hour Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony took place at the most perfect time of day. It was late afternoon, just before golden hour, and the sun was hitting the altar in the most beautiful way. Some might think it’s cheesy, but I like to think that Mother Nature was illuminating them.
Their ceremony was all the things—heartfelt vows, tears, and so many laughs. It was truly perfect. I always love capturing their friends and family during moments like this, because the couple is often completely lost in the moment. It allows them to later see just how happy their loved ones were to be there, sharing such a meaningful moment alongside them.
Outdoor Cocktail Hour + Elegant Tent Reception
They had the cutest cocktail hour filled with yummy bites—sushi, antipasto, and drinks. It was the perfect time for everyone to mingle, catch up, and share their first celebratory remarks with the couple. Every interaction I captured was so sweet.
Their reception took place under a gorgeous white tent, with lights lining the ceiling and setting the mood for the night. They shared their first dances, heartfelt toasts and speeches, and spent the rest of the evening on the dance floor. Everyone was such a blast to be around, and the energy throughout the reception was so vibrant.
