These family photos at the Philadelphia Rodin Museum of Art were the epitome of sophistication, elegance and love. It was everything a family session should be, and truly reflected the love mom and dad have for their adorable, sweet daughter. When this lovely family reached out, they had their hearts set on a museum session – mom’s love for dark academia and artful photography made this location the perfect choice. Art Museum Family Photos
As a photographer, I’m constantly looking for ways to enhance both our clients’ experiences and my craft. While weddings, engagements, and couples shoots naturally radiate romance (it’s their essence after all!), I firmly believe we can capture that same emotional depth in family photos.
I want you to know that all those romantic and artistic elements you love can absolutely shine in your family session. Lighting plays a huge role in creating that mood. Inside the museum, we worked with the dramatic contrast between the darker spaces and beams of sunlight streaming through windows, allowing us to soften moments and play with different angles.
Even with their little one in most shots, we made sure to capture those tender moments between mom and dad. Their shared glances and gentle touches in between poses – these seemingly small moments are worth preserving. They show both their bond as a couple and as parents, and being both is such a special journey that deserves to be documented.
Many of my recent sessions have taken on a more upscale feel, and I’m always thrilled to see how couples dress for the occasion. Mom chose a stunning off-the-shoulder, drop-waist black dress, while dad complemented her perfectly in a suit. Their daughter wore the most adorable dress, and she and mom had matching jackets for our outdoor portraits.
