When Molly and Sam asked me to capture their wedding day, I was beyond excited. The love between these two is truly remarkable – I’ve never seen a couple light up quite the way they do when they see each other. They have a zest for life, always ready to have fun and savor every moment. What struck me most was their close bond with friends and family, many of whom had their own reasons to celebrate. Molly’s sister, for instance, had recently gotten engaged, and her best friend was expecting a baby. Yet Molly and Sam had no problem sharing the spotlight with their loved ones. Their genuine joy in others’ happiness was beautiful to witness, and everyone – including myself – felt warmly welcomed into their celebration.
A Classy Small Wedding at Liberty House
Getting ready with family and friends
The day started off at Sam and Molly’s place, with just their closest family and friends around. I got to capture some really sweet moments – the bride getting all glammed up, her family helping her into her dress. Then I spent some time with the groom and their family. We did some fun editorial photos with each individually and together, but I also spent some time in the background, observing and taking the documentary photos that really capture the essence of the day – you know, the candid moments of ear-to-ear smiles and those teary-eyed hugs. It was such a special atmosphere, full of excitement and love.
First look and intimate moments
Once everyone was ready, we moved on to the first look. Molly’s walk down the stairs to see Sam was so heartwarming. Their faces just lit up when they saw each other, and for a moment, it seemed like the world around them faded away. They took their time, soaking in the moment and truly appreciating one another. We also captured some beautiful reactions from their families during this special reveal. Those first-look moments are always so magical to witness.
Classy wedding photos and bridal portraits
We moved on to capture some elegant, editorial-style portraits of both Molly and Sam. I love how the close-ups of the bride turned out, especially the ones showing off her beautiful ring. We also took some photos with the NYC skyline in the background. It was such an amazing view, and Molly and Sam were having a great time during the shoot. You can really see their personalities come out in these photos.
A special dinner at Maddy Rose Restaurant
The reception dinner took place at Maddy Rose restaurant. They set up one long table for the meal, with just about 30 guests – perfect for their intimate celebration. The table looked beautiful, just as I’d imagined it would. Tall candles ran down the middle, with white roses nestled between them. It was understated and elegant. Throughout the evening, everyone enjoyed the food, shared lots of laughs, and mingled with each other. Molly’s dad gave a toast that brought tears of joy to her eyes.

I was touched to receive this heartfelt message from Molly and Sam after their wedding:
