New Hope Railroad Vintage Photoshoot

For as long as I’ve been doing photography, a Vintage Train session has been a dream of mine to capture. My favorite thing to capture is emotive photos with nostalgic overtones – reminiscent of a time of romance and simplicity. I had the best time planning and shooting this styled vintage photoshoot at New Hope Railroad with Brendi and Carlo. I’ve worked with them on a styled shoot before, and they do not disappoint! They were such a pleasure to work with and really brought my vision to life. The entire day was incredible, especially when it started snowing, adding the perfect touch to our 1940s-inspired romance scene. Keep reading to see how this day unfolded!

Vintage Train Inspired Photoshoot

I have been wanting to do a 1940s-inspired train session with a couple since I could remember. I wanted it to be where one was leaving and the other was staying, evoking a “goodbye for now” desperate longing for each other. I knew Brendi and Carlo of @bobeystyledshoots were the perfect couple to bring this vision to life. The idea for the shoot was similar to leaving for war, but I wanted to keep it more timeless. I love anything nostalgic and wanted to capture something that resembled old-fashioned romance.

We chose New Hope Railroad as the location. They have a beautiful, well-preserved vintage train that we were able to use both inside and outside. The scenery was absolutely stunning. Like I said before, everything was so well preserved, and even some of the staff members were wearing older-themed uniforms. But what really made the session breathtaking was the snow. It just added this extra element that really made the shoot incredible.

For their outfits, we wanted everything to be true to the era, so Brendi and Carlo thrifted parts of their outfit, and I pitched in and found a vintage 1940’s era suitcase and wedding dress on eBay. We, of course, accessorized with gloves, pearls, a hat with a mini veil, and cute matching style shoes.

I have so many favorite moments and images from this shoot. All of the photos outside in the snow were breathtaking, especially the ones where he is hanging out of the train kissing her. We also took a photo of him spinning her around under the New Hope sign, which is actually a recreation of an actual image from the 1940s!

I am absolutely in love with how this vintage photoshoot turned out! From the perfect 1940s outfits to those romantic snowy moments outside the train, every detail came together beautifully. That incredible shot of him hanging off the train for a kiss still gives me butterflies!

I love anything nostalgic (sometimes I feel like I was born in the wrong time period), so if you’re dreaming of vintage vibes like this one, I would love to capture your love story in a way that’s authentic to you.
