Bayshore Waterfront Park Engagement Session

This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to capture some of the most stunning beach engagement photos at Bayshore Waterfront Park. Hanan & Mohammad are an absolute dream couple, and their photos radiate all the best vibes – loving, romantic, and truly cinematic.

Hanan & Mohammad’s Beach Engagement Photos

About the couple

Let me share a little story before we dive into their engagement shoot. Hanan and Mohammad met through friends and, despite being in a long-distance relationship, got engaged pretty quickly because they “just knew.” They are seriously the cutest couple ever! Truly meant to be, they’re so sweet with each other. She’ll be moving out to be with him soon, where they’ll tie the knot in an intimate wedding.

Watching them interact during our session was absolutely heartwarming. They’re so in tune with each other’s emotions, always sweet and willing to do anything for one another. It’s clear they’re deeply in love.

Choosing a beach photoshoot

Hanan & Mohammad had already done an engagement photoshoot with me in the studio – very editorial and classy. But those photos were more for themselves. For this session, they wanted something different. They chose a beach setting at Bayshore Waterfront Park because they wanted to have more fun and freedom to express their love.

We decided to start at sunset and continue into my favorite time – the transition from golden hour into blue hour. The resulting photos were absolutely breathtaking, filled with vibrant colors & candid, documentary-style moments. As it got darker, we were treated to a stunning view of the NYC skyline. The city lights added such a special touch to the background.

A timeless & sophisticated vibe

For this shoot, they chose to wear white – the perfect way to elevate their engagement session. Hanan’s dress had a beautiful pop of color with purple flowers at the bottom – it was so stunning!

To add some fun elements to the shoot, we incorporated a few props. We had a little white cake decorated with purple flowers to match Hanan’s dress, and a Polaroid camera for them to take photos during the session. These elements added such a playful and personal touch to their photos!

A Sweet Message From The Couple

I love it when couples leave me reviews, and this one from Hanan is a must-share!

“After my first photoshoot, I was recommending Chrissy to everyone I knew. We loved our photos so much that my fiancée and I ended up booking a second shoot right away. She is the most thoughtful and most talented person! She has so much passion for what she does! We loved every second of both shoots. Although my second shoot a lot of things went wrong for me personally.. one of the many things is that my dress ended up ripping right before leaving my house! but she reassured me that she’d edit it right out (which she did) and she made me feel calm enough for me to actually enjoy the shoot. It was also my birthday the next day.. and SHE requested to bring a cake to celebrate and capture some pictures. I truly mean she was the most thoughtful. She gave us wonderful memories to be able to look back on both times. I’m so thankful that I came across her page and booking with her ended up working out perfectly. She makes sure you feel heard in what you like and what you’re looking for and she delivers beyond your expectations! I know she’ll only get bigger and wishing her all the success her way! We love you!”

Why You Should Have Beach Engagement Pictures

Having your engagement session at the beach is actually more unique than you might think! There are so many beaches up and down both the east and west coasts, and each beach town has a vibe of its own. Some have piers, some have boardwalks, and some just have plain old sand and water!

But here’s the best part – you can customize your beach engagement shoot however you want. Bring props, have an outfit change, shoot only on sand, in the water, or both! The possibilities are endless, which is why beaches are one of my favorite locations to photograph couples.

On my blog, you can check out two examples of beach photoshoots that are completely different from each other – one in Asbury Park, NJ, and one at Lone Rock Beach, UT. This just shows how versatile beach locations can be!

If you’re considering a beach engagement photoshoot, I’d love to chat about the possibilities. Over the years, I’ve photographed at numerous beaches, each with its own unique charm. We can explore options to find a location that perfectly captures your vision and love story.
